Make your business facts clear, publish useful answers, and let search engines read your pages. Track visits and enquiries over time. No checklist can guarantee a Google ranking or an AI recommendation.
Being online does not mean people can find you. Start with the facts and pages buyers need when they choose a business.
Record the starting point
List your key services and the searches customers use. Record clicks, impressions, and enquiries before making changes.
Pass: you have a dated baseline and a short list of goals.
Keep business facts consistent
Use the same business name, real contact details, and service areas on your site and profiles. Use a Google Business Profile only if your business is eligible.
Pass: customers do not find conflicting hours or contact details.
Check that pages can be read
Load each main URL directly. Check page titles, canonical links, robots rules, and the sitemap. Important words should be in HTML, not only in images.
Pass: search tools can read the main offer and its next step.
Answer the buying questions
Explain price, scope, timing, who the offer fits, and what is not included. Add real examples with permission. Keep each page useful on its own.
Pass: a buyer can compare the offer without guessing.
Review evidence each month
Compare search clicks, useful enquiries, and any visible AI referrals with the baseline. Record the date, tool, and question when checking an AI answer.
Pass: you can explain what changed without treating one AI answer as a fixed ranking.
Common questions
Does AI search need special schema?
No special AI schema is required. Clear facts, readable pages, and accurate structured data support discovery, but do not guarantee inclusion.
Should I publish a page for every town?
Only when each page has useful, true information about that area. Swapping town names in the same text does not help a customer choose.
